Jack In The Box Day nursery in Slough opened in 1992 and registered at these new premises in 2004. It operates from a single storey building within the grounds of Upton Hospital in Slough.

NURSERY ETHOS

The Berkshire Healthcare NHS Nurseries offer high quality care and education, by highly motivated, knowledgeable staffing. The individual needs of children are supported to enable them to reach their full potential.

Children are cared for in four different rooms which are used according to the needs and development stage of children.

The nursery is open Monday to Friday for 51 weeks of the year between 7.30am and 6.00pm. Days are 10 hours long with a start time of 7.30am, 7.45am or 8.00am. There is a minimum attendance of 2 days per week. Please see our admissions and notice policy for details of how places are offered.

There are secure areas for outdoor play. The setting supports children with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and those who have English as an additional language.

We are managed and trained by the NHS and all our staff are NHS employees. However, as with all of our nurseries, you do not need to work for the NHS for your child or children to be able to obtain a place and attend.

Our nursery in Slough has space allocation to cater for 58 children at any one time. We are able to take children from the age of 6 months until 31st August after their 4th birthday. Children are eligible for a school place in a reception class with effect from the September following their 4th birthday.

Open days: Parents are welcome to look around Jack In The Box nursery in Slough at either 10.15am or 2.15pm, by appointment. Family events such as coffee mornings, fetes and a graduation ceremony take place throughout the year.

Settling in sessions: Each child will access a variety of settling in sessions. This will allow the child to experience all aspects of nursery life and to become familiar with the environment, other children and the practitioners.
