Help with PDF files

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It is a universal file format that displays the fonts, images, graphics and layout of a document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it.

It ensures that a document on screen will look exactly the same when printed out. Downloading a document in this way saves time, money and resources, as there is no delay while you wait for it to be posted to you and NHS departments do not need to print such large quantities of documents.

In order to view and print a PDF document, you may need to download the free PDF viewer from the Adobe website. Most computers come with the free Adobe Reader software as standard.
