There are four play rooms and the children are divided by age groups. Each room has a room leader that leads a team of qualified nursery staff.
Poppy Room (10 months - 18 months)
This room can hold a maximum of 9 children, on a ratio of 1 staff member to 3 children.
Daisy Room (18 months - 2 years)
This room can hold 12 children on a ratio of 1 staff member to 3 children.
Buttercup Room (2 - 3 years)
This room can hold 18 children on a ratio of 1 staff member to 4 children.
Bluebell Room (3 years - until 31st August following the 4th birthday)
This room can hold 24 children on a ratio of 1 staff member to 8 children.
It is important to note that the nursery registration is flexible and the age groups for the rooms can be adapted to meet both the needs of the children and the demands of the nursery. Parents/guardians will always be consulted before their child moves rooms.
Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery strictly adheres to the adult / child ratios as stipulated by Ofsted.
The nursery staff will follow the advice and guidance offered by parents in ensuring that their child settles into the nursery. The nursery uses routines for such functions as meal times etc. while at the same time allowing the children to explore their surrounding and initiate their own activities whilst being guided by the staff. The Early Years Foundation Stage places a key emphasis on children learning through play which encourages creative thinking and embraces individual learning styles.
Kiddies' Cabin provides excellent care for my daughter, has great indoor and outdoor facilities and offers a good variety of food - she loves going there!
The staff are so resourceful - they have unlimited ideas for new crafts and activities and keep the children completely occupied. They also have a great sense of humour and have lots of fun with the children. All of the staff are friendly and make time for you should you have any questions. They know each child and their parents, and the key carers especially have an in-depth knowledge of each child's personality, likes and dislikes. This helps ensure transitions between rooms are smooth and well informed.
There is excellent daily communication with parents, which offers great harmonisation between nursery and home life, and monthly newsletters provide a broader overview of the whole nursery and advise of future events!
In short, Kiddies Cabin' helps to produce happy, confident and well-mannered children and we will have no hesitation in sending our second daughter there too!
