Our rooms
There are three play rooms and the children are divided by age groups
Green Room - 10 months to 18 months (15 children)
Red Room - 24 months to 36 months (16 children)
Blue Room - 3 to school age (24 children)
It is important to note that the nursery registration is flexible and the age groups for the rooms can be adapted to meet both the needs of the children and the demands of the nursery. Parents/guardians will always be consulted before their child moves rooms.
The Green Room can take 15 children age 10 months to 2 years, the ratio is 1 adult to 3 children. This room has a nappy change room and milk kitchen accessible from within the room itself. The room has a movable low level partition fence to create an area for the non-mobile under 1 age group.
Under 1’s sleep in cots and the staff work to each child’s individual routine.
Once the children reach 1 year old their day tends to run with the room routine and the children sleep on soft bed mats after lunch time.
The Red Room can take 16 children age 2 to 3 years, the ratio is 1 adult to 4 children.
The room has an outdoor free flow area attached and they share the nappy change area and bathroom with the Blue room. The children also sleep on bed mats after lunch in this age group and are often learning to use the potty during their time in this room.
The Blue Room can take 24 children aged 3 years until 31st August following the 4th birthday, the ratio is 1 adult to 8 children. This room also has an outdoor free flow area attached and have easy access to the adjoined bathroom giving the children an important feeling of independence during hand washing etc. with the advantage of adults close at hand to help where needed. If the children need some quiet time to rest and relax they can enjoy the quiet area where they can look at books or talk to their friends.
