A personalised approach to Early Years

Every child’s learning journey is unique.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which supports children from birth to age five and lays the foundation for lifelong learning.

Our experienced practitioners observe, record, and celebrate each child’s progress, working closely with parents to set individual goals and next steps.

We carefully record your child’s learning journey, in their development record, which includes observations, milestones, photos, and examples of their artwork. This helps use capture the special moments and progress they make during their time with us.

These records are kept up to date by your child’s key person and are treated with the utmost confidentiality. You’re always welcome to view your child’s record at the nursery, and if you’d like, we can arrange a meeting to talk through their achievements and next steps together.

Your child’s key person uses these records to understand their interests and development, helping to plan activities and support that are just right for them. We believe parents are partners in this process, and we value your insights and suggestions.

Together, we can celebrate your child’s progress and decide on new goals to help them thrive.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the framework that guides everything we do for children from birth to age five. It’s a set of standards that all early years providers follow, designed to give your child the very best start in life.

These early years are a time of incredible growth and discovery. The EYFS helps prepare your child for school and future learning, but just as importantly, it ensures their nursery experience is happy, active, exciting, and secure. We believe every child deserves to feel valued and supported as they learn and grow. That’s why we work closely with children, parents, and carers to create an environment where every child’s individual needs are met and every day is filled with opportunities to explore, play, and thrive.

Development records

We keep a special record for every child, filled with observations, artwork, photos, and “WOW!” moments. Parents are invited to review these regularly and contribute their own insights.

Partnership with parents

We recognise the important role that parents play in their child’s development and progress. We value your input and encourage parents to communicate with their child’s key person to discuss progress and plan for their next stage of learning.

How we evidence learning and development

From your child’s very first day, we document their achievements, milestones, and special moments. Your child's paper based learning journey will include information regarding their educational growth, entry assessments, 2-year reviews, formative and summative assessments, hand and footprints and fun activities for children to measure their height.

These are fascinating for the children to look at and become treasured keepsakes for families and help us tailor learning to each child’s interests and stage of development.
